The Team

Mike Grimm

Mike Grimm is the president and founder of Federal Employee Benefits Professionals. He is also the Lead Federal Benefits Professional. He is responsible for developing and creating training material for federal employees and agencies. He specializes in federal employee/retirement benefits training and coordinates agency-sponsored and public seminars.

Before starting his business, Mike retired from the US Government as a Federal Agent/Deputy Director with the National Nuclear Security Administration. During that time, he was directly responsible for leading missions and teams with safety and security as the top priority. Mike’s current mission is helping federal employees manage their benefits for a safe and secure retirement. He is also retired from the US Army Reserves, with both active duty and reserve years of service, and is proud to be a Veteran Owned Small Business.

Mike held multiple security clearances throughout his government and military careers, demonstrating his trustworthiness, reliability, and integrity. His hallmark in these capacities was his ability to distinguish between the facts surrounding a situation and the emotion of the moment. This skill translates directly into his line of work today as a retirement benefits professional.

“I have been where federal employees are right now, whether as a new employee accepting their first assignment or near the end of their federal career, uncertain of what will happen next and wondering if they have enough financial security to retire. I can appreciate the uncertainty and urgency in determining if one is ready to transition from a secure and predictable income into the unknown of future benefits and how they all come together. I value the opportunity to walk alongside someone making that change and help by giving them retirement benefits strategies that they can translate into real security.”

Mike graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He is a Fellow through the Excellence in Government Fellows Program and a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy (FBINA), Session #239. Mike enjoys time in the Rocky Mountains, RVing, archery elk hunting, hiking, and time with family anywhere. Mike and his wife and business partner, Angie Grimm, have two adult children and reside in Amarillo, TX.
